Michael Jackson's former doctor Conrad Murray has been denied the chance to pursue an appeal of his involuntary manslaughter conviction.
The medic was found guilty of causing the pop star's 2009 death and served almost two years behind bars. Following his release from jail in October, he attempted to clear his name by appealing his conviction.
However, officials at a District Court of Appeal in California rejected his claim in January, and now they have made it clear he will not be able to pursue the case any further by rejecting his request to take his appeal to the state's Supreme Court.
In the ruling, obtained by Billboard.com, officials concluded: "Appellant's petition for rehearing is denied."
Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011 following Jackson's death from a lethal dose of the anaesthetic propofol.
