Consider tobacco excise hike: Liberal

Liberal senator Zed Seselja believes the federal government needs to consider raising the tobacco excise, as Labor is.

The federal government should consider raising the tobacco excise, one of its own says.

Labor has already announced the party would increase the excise in office to pay for for the Gonski school policy.

"I wouldn't argue that we absolutely rule it out, I think it has to be considered," Liberal senator Zed Seselja told Sky News on Wednesday.
