Constant winning isn't boring fans: Hagan

Queensland assistant coach Michael Hagan doesn't agree the Maroons' Origin dominance is boring.

Queensland believe winning an eighth straight State of Origin title on Wednesday night would only add to interest in the series.

On the morning of the game three series decider, Queensland assistant coach Michael Hagan took issue with critics who suggest the Maroons' seven-year dominance is getting boring and another series win would be bad for the game.

"I think it's probably increased the interest in our game more than ever," said Hagan.

"(But) I guess they're getting a bit annoyed with us coming down here and taking that trophy home."

Hagan pointed to the 83,000-strong crowd expected at a long sold-out ANZ Stadium in Sydney as evidence that the Origin competition, and public interest in it, were as intense as ever.

Hagan said the Maroons were expecting NSW to replicate the aggressive style of play that delivered them a victory in the series opener on the same ground.

"I think they're going to go back to that really physical type of performance," he told reporters.

"They'll probably target a few guys as well.

"We need to be good enough to handle that."

Hagan also quashed the possibility of Maroons head coach Mal Meninga ending his long and successful reign after the match.

"I don't get any sense he's ready to pull the pin," said Hagan.
