Diamonds defender Julie Corletto says she's fit and ready to go for this week's Netball World Cup following a frustrating three weeks nursing her troublesome foot in a moon boot.
The goal defence took to the court for the first time on Saturday in Newcastle, as the team add the final touches to preparations before kicking off their world title defence in Sydney on Friday.
Corletto, who will retire after she attempts to win a third consecutive world championships, said she pulled up well on Sunday after the session.
"I bounced out of bed this morning ready and raring to go," the 28-year-old said.
Corletto has been wearing the moon boot as a precaution following a tough slog in the NSW Swifts' run to the trans-Tasman grand final.
She sat out all court work during the Australian squad's first training camp on the Gold Coast, instead maintaining her fitness levels in the pool.
"It's been a challenging time - you could probably ask my husband that, he's seen a bit of frustration.
"But in saying that it was the smartest thing to do.
"It's feeling great now, and this is when I wanted it to feel good, leading into the World Cup.
"So it's the best preparation I could have had considering the circumstances."
Should Corletto's foot cause her any issues during the jam-packed tournament featuring eight matches in 10 days, she'll have strong support in fellow goal defence Rebecca Bulley.
"I'm probably the freshest I've ever been," said Bulley, who spent most of the trans-Tasman season with the championship-winning Queensland Firebirds coming off the bench as an impact player.
"I think the reduced court time in the ANZ was probably really good for me, and I've had a great preparation doing my weights down in Wollongong.
"I feel ready to go and I feel like I can step up and take some of that load off the players."
