Cornes quits Giants, returns to Port

Chad Cornes has quit as a Greater Western Sydney assistant coach to become Port Adelaide's SANFL coach.

Chad Cornes has quit his role as an assistant coach at AFL club Greater Western Sydney.

Cornes will return to Adelaide to coach Port Adelaide's SANFL team from next season.

Cornes played 238 AFL games with Port before adding another 16 at the Giants before taking an assistant coaching role in 2013.
