On the 2 July, SBS World News inaccurately referred to the deceased British Television personality, Jimmy Savile, as a convicted paedophile. The controversy about Jimmy Savile, including allegations of an extensive history of repeated sexual abuse of people including many children, occurred only after his death in 2011. Therefore he was never charged or convicted of any sex related crimes, including those involving young people.
