The Delhi Daredevils have sealed their first victory of the Indian Premier League season, with Australian paceman Nathan Coulter-Nile the pick of the side's bowlers in the clash with Kings XI Punjab.
Coulter-Nile bowled three overs for 14 runs, notching up 13 dot deliveries, as the side chased down Punjab's total of 165 with five wickets to spare in Pune on Wednesday (Thursday AEST).
Indian opener Mayank Agarwal, meanwhile, came in firing for the Daredevils, putting on 68 runs in 48 balls to be named man of the match.
Earlier, Australians George Bailey and Glenn Maxwell put up respective scores of 19 and 15 for the Kings before being caught off Imran Tahir.
Maxwell picked up two sixes in his five-ball knock, but failed to capitalise as he was caught at covers, while Kings skipper Bailey managed a six and a four in his 11-ball innings.
The match also proved disappointing for Mitchell Johnson, who failed to pick up any wickets for Punjab and conceded a costly 43 runs in his four overs.
Speaking after the match, Bailey said his side didn't perform all three disciplines as well as he would have liked.
"We put down two or three catches as well so it just wasn't our day.
"We still kept battling and our heads high until the end which was good to see."
The win gives a significant boost to Delhi, the last-placed side of 2014, after losses in their first two games to Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.
