Pauline Hanson insists claims she's a racist won't stop her from speaking out about Islam, telling parliament murders on Australian streets would not be happening if immigration controls had been stricter.
The One Nation leader was speaking in support of new laws allowing high-risk terrorist offenders to be subject to detention orders after the completion of a custodial sentence if they're still deemed to present an unacceptable risk to the community.
The scheme, modelled on existing state and territory regimes for high risk sex offenders, cleared the Senate on Thursday morning with the support of Labor.
