North Queensland might have ended their NRL away-game hoodoo but it'll mean little to coach Paul Green if they don't back it up this weekend against Canterbury.
The Cowboys picked up their first win on the road this season by defeating Cronulla last Friday but face another away trip this Saturday against a Bulldogs' team licking their wounds following a big loss to the Wests Tigers.
Green says the win over the Sharks is a big step for his team but it's not the time to fall back into bad habits.
"A win makes a heap of difference," Green said.
"It determines whether you have a good week or a bad week. This week's a good week for us.
"Exactly what that means for us long term, I don't know. We'll see. It certainly got the monkey off our back, which is good, and it's about building on that and we should get some confidence out of that."
Green fully expects the Bulldogs to be fired up with coach Des Hasler sure to have told some truths to his players following the 46-18 hiding by the Tigers.
"I'm sure they were pretty disappointed in what happened against the Tigers so we'll be in for a good game which I look forward to," he said.
The Cowboys also confirmed on Tuesday they had secured Brisbane hooker Jake Granville on a two-year deal.
Granville played under Green at Queensland Cup side Wynnum-Manly.
