Australian skier Britt Cox has extended her unassailable lead in the mogul World Cup title rankings with a round of 16 berth in the dual event in Japan.
Cox strengthened her position on Sunday (Monday AEDT) after wrapping up the women's World Cup title by winning gold in the single moguls a day earlier in Tazawako.
The win was her sixth gold medal from eight World Cups.
The 22-year-old is 259 points ahead of her nearest rival in the title race, with two events and a possible 200 points remaining as the World Cup heads to China.
Despite falling short of a semi-finals berth in the dual mogul, Cox was pleased with her performance.
Her main rivals, Perrine Laffont of France and Justine Dufour-Lapointe of Canada, were also unable to win through to the later rounds of the event.
"To find out this afternoon that I have won the crystal globe for mogul skiing feels incredible," Cox said.
"I skied well in the duals today but my opponent in the round of 16 skied better.
"It was a close one but I think I got a bit wild in the middle section which meant the dual went her way."
Cox, from Falls Creek in Victoria, has turned her attention to the remaining World Cup legs beginning next weekend before the world championships in Spain on March 8.
"The job certainly is not done yet," Cox said.
"We still have two more World Cups in China before the world championships in Spain."
Her previous best ranking at season-end was 14th in 2013-14.
