Cranes have righted a concrete truck that toppled onto a construction site in Sydney's north.

A childcare centre, units, part of a Westfield carpark and other buildings within a 75-metre radius of the Chatswood site were evacuated as a precaution during the operation.

The truck was pumping concrete onto the roof of a four-storey construction site on Devonshire St when it toppled just before 9am, leaving its boom resting on the building.

No one was injured and people were allowed back into their buildings after 1pm.
