He's on the cusp of eclipsing St George Illawarra's appearance record but co-captain Ben Creagh is unsure of where his NRL future lies.
Should he stay fit over the next four weeks, the 31-year-old will pass 2010 premiership-winning skipper Ben Hornby's mark of 273 games in the Red V during the side's round seven clash against Gold Coast on April 16.
He goes into Sunday's clash with Penrith on 270 games, having eclipsed club great Norm Provan (256 games for St George) last year.
The milestone shapes as a proud achievement for Creagh and while reluctant to acknowledge it just yet, it's one of two big events on the horizon for the 11-time NSW Origin representative.
Creagh is off-contract at the end of 2016 and the 31-year-old has set himself a mid-season deadline for deciding whether to play on into a 15th season which would give him a chance to join the illustrious 300-game club.
Since last season, coach Paul McGregor has elected to use Creagh off the bench as he comes to the end of his career, leading to Gareth Widdop being handed the captaincy.
Creagh said he would be guided by how he felt and whether he thought his body could stand another year of top-flight football.
"I haven't made a decision yet," Creagh said.
"I'll speak to Mary (McGregor) halfway through the season and see what he wants to do and see what I want to do and decide then.
"At the moment I'm not too worried about it. I'll just wait and see."
