Firefighters are battling to contain two neighbouring bushfires in South Australia's Barossa Valley.
The CFS warns that a blaze in Springton may threaten the safety of residents.
The grassfire, near Cookes Hill Road, Strachan Road and Woolford Road, is travelling in an easterly direction towards the township of Sanderston and Three Chain Road.
Earlier, authorities downgraded an emergency warning for a bushfire in neighbouring Angaston.
But a watch and act alert is in place for the Angaston fire, near Gnadenberg Road and the Keyneton Moculta Road, which is travelling in a northeasterly direction towards Mt Karinya Road.
The CFS said on Tuesday afternoon the blaze was burning out of control in extreme weather and might threaten lives.
About 200 firefighters are being assisted by aerial water bombers.
One shed is believed to have been destroyed.
CFS regional commander John Hutchins said firefighters were battling strong winds as they fought to contain the blaze.
"It's certainly making our life very, very difficult," he told ABC radio.
"Because of the heavy terrain, it's moving around a number of different fronts. We're doing everything we can to bring this fire under control."
Bureau of Meteorology spokesman Matt Collopy said the worst of the weather appeared to have passed but conditions were expected to remain challenging for several hours.
