The NSWRL says Canberra centre Jarrod Croker has been drafted into the Blues' squad merely for the experience of being in camp and is not 18th man for State of Origin III on Wednesday in Brisbane.

The 23-year-old goalkicking centre played for NSW Country earlier this year in Dubbo and joined the squad on Wednesday.

An official 18th man will be named later in the week.
