Canberra skipper Jarrod Croker is set to make an early return from injury, giving his side a major boost ahead of their NRL clash with Wests Tigers.

Croker, who dislocated his kneecap in the All Stars pre-season clash, was expected to be out until at least round five but has recovered to put himself in contention to be named in the 21-man squad for Sunday's game at GIO Stadium.

"He's definitely ready to rip in and try and put some punch back in the team," Raiders fullback Jack Wighton said.
