Cronulla are desperate to overturn a horrid home record this season ahead of five consecutive games at Southern Cross Group Stadium.
The second-placed Sharks' only three losses this season have come at home, as the defending premiers tasted blood in each of their six away matches.
But that must change ahead of a six-week run, which includes one bye and five home matches which can set up their run into the second half of the season.
"We've addressed that," halfback Chad Townsend said.
"It's been disappointing our home form.
"We've said it's not us. We really want to turn up this weekend and play well."
The Sharks' home run starts against North Queensland on Thursday night.
The two teams met in last year's preliminary final, where Cronulla easily accounted for their Cowboys opponents en route to the premiership.
However despite their lofty position on the ladder, the Sharks are playing far from their best football.
They scraped home on Friday night against St George Illawarra, despite completing at just 59 per cent and making 14 errors.
It was systematic of their season, given the Sharks have the worst completion rate in the competition at nearly 70 per cent.
"We haven't been playing our best," Townsend said.
"We do have a lot of improvement in us."
But Townsend said the confidence of being defending premiers had got the Sharks home in a number of their tight tussles.
"The confidence of knowing that you have a good football team and knowing that we're not playing our best but we're still winning," he said.
