Adelaide have strengthened their claim as premiership favourites with Saturday's 67-point demolition of Gold Coast.

The Crows ran out 23.15 (153) to 13.8 (86) winners at Metricon Stadium to remain unbeaten and go 5-0 for the season and first time in the club's history.

Adelaide made their intentions clear in front of 12,672 fans with Curtly Hampton kicking two goals in the first 10 minutes.

The Crows took their unbeaten run against the Suns to 10.

This season, Adelaide have scored 100 points or more in every game and forwards Taylor Walker and Eddie Betts have combined for 32 goals.

The 30-year-old Betts, now with 19 goals, takes top spot in Coleman Medal reckoning.

The cogs were in motion for an upset, a long trek up north and a resurgent Gold Coast would have triggered some concerns for coach Don Pyke's men.

With all eyes on their star-studded forward line, Rory Atkins shone in the midfield with his strength around the ruck earning 29 disposals.

Atkins showed his creativity when surrounded by Suns players early in the second quarter, managing a bounce pass-style handball to put the Crows in on goal.

Adelaide were unselfish in attack, with six players kicking two goals each and Betts and Tom Lynch managing three apiece.

Pyke said the share of goals was not by design but he was pleased with the result.

"Our midfielders hit the scoreboard as well as our forwards. We want to have a nice even contribution and we got that again tonight," Pyke said.

"It's hard to look through a list of players and find someone who didn't contribute tonight."

The Suns' defence has struggled without their co-captain Steven May.

The injured May (hamstring) was replaced by Jack Leslie who had to face the best forward line in the competition.

Leslie struggled against the strength of Walker with only one tackle for the match.

Overall, the Suns struggled to reign in the Crows as 11 players registered one tackle or less and coach Rodney Eade said his team were outworked.

"They ran harder, not only their midfielders but their backs as well, and that probably won them the midfield battle," Eade said.

A bright spot for the Suns was the performance of Callum Ah Chee, who kicked five goals for the first time in his career.

The Crows will likely miss Riley Knight and Daniel Talia for a few weeks with both suffering hamstring injuries.
