Adelaide coach Scott Camporeale says his players achieved perfection in a stunning demolition of AFL flag fancies West Coast.
"We did it perfectly," Camporeale said after his surging Crows thumped the Eagles on Sunday by 57 points.
The finals-bound Crows rose to seventh with a commanding 19.12 (126) to 10.9 (69) victory at Adelaide Oval.
The result places in peril the top-two hopes of West Coast, who must defeat St Kilda next week or likely slip to third and be punted on the road in the first week of finals - probably to meet Hawthorn.
Adelaide, in a logjam in the lower reaches of the top eight, could secure a home elimination final with an away win next week against Geelong.
"We want to finish as high as we can and we won't be letting up next week in terms of resting players," Camporeale said.
Camporeale has banked six wins in eight matches since taking over as coach after the alleged murder of his predecessor Phil Walsh - and Sunday's was arguably the most impressive.
"I'm sure he (Walsh) would be proud tonight, no doubt," Camporeale said.
With panache and precision, the Crows booted the initial nine goals of the game - they led by 56 points just four minutes into the second term en route to dishing out the heaviest defeat of the season to the Eagles.
West Coast coach Adam Simpson accused his players of a slack approach to the fixture, perhaps knowing their top-two fate wouldn't be decided until next week regardless of Sunday's result.
"We're going for top two next week. And that might have been the reason why we didn't compete as hard as we normally do," Simpson said.
"It's a really good reminder that this competition has a way of giving you a clip when you take your eye off the ball."
Eagles backman Jeremy McGovern, in just his second game in six weeks because of injury, was substituted with an injured left shoulder.
"That was a precaution ... we think he's going to be okay," Simpson said.
Adelaide, with six wins from their past seven games, are building serious momentum ahead of the finals.
"If they keep bringing that energy and that attitude to play, we are going to be tough to beat," Camporeale said.
"The blueprint, the way we want to play, has been there for the last month. And they have got reward."
