Crows fail to kill off AFL camp issue

The widow of former Adelaide coach Phil Walsh has passed harsh public judgment on the club's pre-season camp controversy.

Adelaide's efforts to put their controversial AFL pre-season camp behind them are also proving a fail.

There was a fraught new development in the saga on Monday when the widow of former Crows Phil Walsh said her husband would have been deeply upset by what happened on the camp.

Responding to a Facebook post from former Port Adelaide captain Domenic Cassisi about the issue, Meredith Gibbs made a rare public comment.

"Devastated and angry that those involved are ignorant of the culture of our First Nations people, it would make my husband Phil Walsh deeply upset," she wrote.

One of the biggest issues from the camp is rumours of what happened to Adelaide indigenous players.

The Crows have cut ties with the Collective Mind company as a direct result of the camp.

Current coach Don Pyke described the camp as "a fail" and in his post, Cassisi said he was baffled as to why it happened.

The Crows also continue to attract widespread criticism for calling a media briefing on Saturday afternoon, where Pyke and Crows football boss Brett Burton spoke about the camp and confirmed the relationship with Collective Mind was ending.

"I haven't seen a butchered press conference like that for a long period of time," commentator and former coach Paul Roos said on Fox Footy.
