Crows hopeful on Brodie Smith

The Adelaide Crows hope defender Brodie Smith can pass concussion tests and play in Saturday's AFL game against Melbourne.

Adelaide remain hopeful All Australian backman Brodie Smith will pass concussion tests and play against Melbourne on Saturday.

Smith, who was knocked out in the Crows' 27-point win against Collingwood last weekend, did some light running as Adelaide held their main training session on Wednesday.

"Brodie is progressing well but it's a day-by-day thing with these concussions, we'll have to wait until later in the week when he has to do the tests and train a little bit more," his teammate David Mackay told reporters.
