Crows to punish drink-driving defender

Adelaide defender Matthew Jaensch will face disciplinary action from his AFL club after being caught drink-driving on Friday night.

Adelaide defender Matthew Jaensch will face internal discipline from his AFL club after being caught drink-driving.

The Crows' backman, recovering from a knee reconstruction, recorded a blood-alcohol reading of 0.137 when stopped by police on Friday night in inner Adelaide.

Jaensch automatically lost his driver's licence for six months and had his car impounded.

"It's obviously a regrettable incident that we're not happy about and neither is Matthew," Crows coach Scott Camporeale said on Sunday.

"But we will deal with that internally during the week."

Jaensch, 25, has not played since injuring a knee in May.
