Crunch time has arrived for the women at the Brisbane International with all four quarter-finals to take place today.

Glamour girl Maria Sharapova will take on Spain's Carla Suarez Navarro, the tournament's seventh seed, while Ana Ivanovic will lock horns with former Brisbane winner Kaia Kanepi in the nighttime fixture on centre court.

The other matches will see Germany's Angelique Kerber face Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, while American Varvara Lepchenko will do battle with lucky loser Alla Kurdryavtseva from Russia.

The main event is Roger Federer's first match for 2015, a tantalising encounter with Aussie wildcard John Millman.

Another local favourite, big-serving Sam Groth, will also be in action against Polish qualifier Lukasz Kubot.

Play at the Queensland Tennis Centre begins from 11am.
