WA senator Rod Culleton has again denied owing large sums of money after this week's latest bizarre public incident - a scuffle outside a Perth court.
The independent senator and former One Nation member was confronted by current party member Anthony Fels, who tried to serve him with a creditors petition on behalf of farmer Frank Bertola on Tuesday.
Senator Culleton tried to run away when confronted and tripped over a friend and landed heavily.
He was sporting a splint on his left wrist on Wednesday and said he was the victim of a "hostile, very callous attack" by Mr Fels and police were investigating.
AAP understands Mr Bertola and Senator Culleton were close friends who helped each other in battles against the big banks over farm foreclosures but had fallen out over money allegedly owed by the politician.
Senator Culleton said he had "never owed" Mr Bertola money and "it was news to him".
The senator and his wife Ioanna were at court on Tuesday to extend violence restraining orders that Mrs Culleton has taken out against Mr Bertola and Bruce Bell, who they claim have threatened them.
The two men were arrested at the senator's recent bankruptcy hearing, one of several legal problems that could end his career.
But AAP understands Mr Fels, a farmer from the same southwest WA region as Senator Culleton, denies being aggressive.
He says he was just trying to hand over papers claiming 40 alleged creditors are owed $3.93 million.
Mr Fels wants to stand for One Nation in the upcoming WA election but did not comment on Wednesday on party leader Pauline Hanson's orders.
