Cummins re-signs with Force in Super Rugby

After locking in the services of Wallabies winger Nick Cummins, the Western Force are deciding whether to sign wayward star James O'Connor.

Western Force winger Nick Cummins will have the chance to realise his World Cup dream after re-signing with the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) for a further two years.

Cummins had attracted interest from clubs in Europe and Japan, but the man known as the honey badger said he was happy to recommit to the Force and the ARU until the end of 2015.

The 26-year-old's new deal will also give him the chance to appear for the Wallabies at the 2015 World Cup in England.

Cummins is recovering from a hand injury, but will rejoin the Wallabies for this year's Spring Tour.

"My hand's feeling a lot better and I can't wait to get back onto the field," said Cummins, who has notched eight Test caps for the Wallabies.

"I'm excited to be continuing with the Wallabies and building with the Force over the next couple of years.

"I've made Perth my home over the past six years and it's exciting to be sticking around with this bunch of blokes and developing my game."

Cummins has scored nine tries in 59 appearances for the Force since making his debut in 2008, but was restricted to just six games last season due to a lingering knee injury.

His re-signing is a huge boost for the Force, who have also added one-Test Wallaby Luke Morahan, Marcel Brache, Zack Holmes and Dane Haylett-Petty to their backline.

The Force are still deciding whether to sign dumped Wallaby James O'Connor, whose future has been in limbo since being axed by the Melbourne Rebels.

O'Connor lost his Wallabies contract earlier this month following an incident at Perth Airport where he was escorted out of the terminal by Australian Federal Police.
