Current account blows out in June quarter

The current account deficit blew out to $19b in the June quarter, seasonally adjusted, from $13.5b in the previous three months.

Australia's current account deficit was $19.0 billion in the June quarter, seasonally adjusted, from $13.5 billion in the previous quarter, official figures show.

The surplus on goods and services fell in real terms, which would detract 0.6 percentage points from growth in the June quarter measure of gross domestic product (GDP), the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday.
