Stephen Curry, who has sparked the Golden State Warriors to the NBA's top record, has closed the gap on LeBron James in fan balloting for next month's NBA All-Star Game.

Updated results announced Thursday by the league showed four-time NBA Most Valuable Player James, who has been sidelined by back and knee injuries the past two weeks, leading overall voting with 971,299 with Curry second at 958,014, trimming the deficit to 13,285 after trailing by 20,324 a week ago.

Voting concludes on January 19 with results announced three days later, revealing the opening lineups for the Eastern and Western conference squads in the 64th NBA All-Star Game, to be played February 15, at New York's Madison Square Garden.

James, Chicago's Pau Gasol (527,582) and New York's Carmelo Anthony (456,186) led East frontcourt voting, with Miami's Chris Bosh a distant fourth more than 100,000 votes behind Anthony.

Washington's John Wall (564,977) and Miami's Dwyane Wade (507,326) own the East backcourt spots with Toronto's Kyle Lowry third, also more than 100,000 votes behind a starting spot.

In the West, Curry is joined in the backcourt by Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant (862,568) with NBA scoring leader James Harden of Houston a distant third on 690,843.

The West forward line features New Orleans Pelicans playmaker Anthony Davis (922,381), Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin (490,786) and Spanish big man Marc Gasol (476,660) of Memphis. San Antonio's Tim Duncan is fourth, more than 100,000 votes behind Gasol.
