Cutting answers Queensland SOS

Ben Cutting has answered a Queensland SOS after paceman Luke Feldman withdrew from their must win Sheffield Shield clash with Western Australia.

Former Australian one-day international Ben Cutting has answered a Queensland SOS ahead of their must-win Sheffield Shield clash with leaders Western Australia.

Cutting has withdrawn from Queensland's second XI clash with Victoria in Melbourne to make a dash for Brisbane on Shield match eve to replace paceman Luke Feldman (groin).

Feldman had hoped to overcome the injury after initially replacing Jason Floros in the Bulls squad for the clash to be held at Brisbane's Allan Border Field.

However, he has shown no progress for the fourth-placed Bulls who must win their remaining two home games outright to make the final.

Cutting chimes into a Bulls squad that features 21-year-old allrounder Jack Wildermuth, who is in line to become the ninth Queensland player to make his Shield debut this season.

He replaces Simon Milenko (broken thumb).

Queensland have already blooded the most debutants in a Shield season since six got the nod in 2001-02.

Bulls squad: James Hopes (capt), Cameron Boyce, Joe Burns, Ben Cutting, Peter Forrest, Peter George, Chris Hartley, Charlie Hemphrey, Chris Lynn, Michael Phillipson, Mark Steketee, Jack Wildermuth (12th man to be named).
