Cyclonic storm in NSW - emergency round-up

Here's the latest from the SES, Bureau of Meteorology and other authorities on the impact of coastal storms in NSW.

WHERE WE'RE AT 1pm AEST

DEAD:

* Four dead

* Colin Webb, 79, Robin MacDonald, 68, and Brian Wilson, 72 - in Dungog flooding, Tuesday

* Elderly woman, whose car was washed away in Maitland flooding

WARNINGS:

* Another storm front could emerge in the next few days

* Flood warnings for rivers across the Hunter, Sydney's outer north/west, Central Coast

* Rivers include Hunter, Hawkesbury, Nepean, Wyong, Paterson and Williams and Tuggerah Lake

* Georges River at Milperra, southwest Sydney, has dropped, all-clear declared

* Stay out of flood waters, don't attempt to drive through

EMERGENCIES:

* 132 flood rescues, 95 in the Hunter

* 14,000 calls for assistance since Monday

* Call-outs equate to almost entire workload for year so far

* About 2000 people isolated by floodwater in the Hunter

* More than 205 SES teams operating

* ACT, Vic, Qld emergency teams assisting

POWER:

* Power out to 160,000 Ausgrid network homes, businesses

* Affected areas are Newcastle, Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie (75,000), Hunter Valley (20,000), Wyong (22,000), Gosford (33,000), Sydney (11,500)

* 10,000 reports of fallen powerlines, other hazards since Monday

* 1200 field staff including extra crews from across NSW and Qld assisting with repair work, reconnections

* Backlog might not be cleared until into the weekend

TRANSPORT:

* Roads in many areas flooded, trees and power lines down

* Public transport disruptions across NSW continue for trains, buses, ferries

DAMAGE:

* NSW government declares 12 local government areas eligible for disaster assistance

* Insurance Council declares catastrophe for storm affected areas

* Assessors heading to affected areas

* Losses now estimated at $161 million

* 24,250 claims received so far
