Cypriots are voting for a new parliament amid public disillusionment with what many see as a discredited political establishment.
Some 543,000 voters are eligible to cast ballots on Sunday for 56 MPs, but opinion polls have shown a large undecided vote.
The vote won't result in a change of government under Cyprus' presidential system.
Opinion polls have also indicated that a significant number of voters may turn to smaller parties instead of larger ones that have long dominated the domestic political scene.
As in previous elections, ongoing efforts to heal the country's ethnic division have been pronounced on the campaign trail.
But an economic crisis that saw many lose their jobs, coupled with a sense that corruption is widespread in politics, have also figured prominently.
Polls close at 0100 AEST on Monday.
