After guiding his country to glory last year against Spain,  the 34 year old etched himself into history by winning the fifth and decisive rubber against Serbia this morning.

The victory came after World number two Novak Djokovic had downed Czech rival Thomas Berdych to set up what proved a one sided finale.

It's only the fifth time a nation has successfully defended the Davis Cup.
