NSW coach Laurie Daley says he would have no problem selecting Robbie Farah for State of Origin from reserve grade.
The unwanted Wests Tigers skipper is considering his future after club management told him this week he isn't part of their plans for next NRL season.
Farah - who holds the joint-venture most-games record with 236 appearances - has been told he would be playing NSW Cup should he decide to stay and serve the final two years of his current contract.
But the 31-year-old needn't worry about such a situation spelling the end of his representative career, with Daley stating he would still pick the 13-game Origin hooker from reserve grade if it came to that.
"Obviously you have to have a look at who's going well and who is not, but if you ask me here and now, it wouldn't worry me," Daley told Fairfax Media.
"I don't know what's gone on with the Tigers but he's an important member of our team.
"If he's in Australia next year and he's fit, I'm sure he will be lining up for us.
"Again, I don't know what's going to happen but I wouldn't hesitate to pick him if he's playing State Cup."
However the Blues mentor indicated it would be "highly unlikely" Farah would keep his Origin jersey if he decides to move to a Super League side.
Farah's manager Sam Ayoub says he has already been approached by a number of clubs in the UK, which may be one of the only options given few NRL sides have the salary-cap space to house his client at this late stage of the season.
