Australian centre Cayla George will join Opals teammate Liz Cambage in the WNBA with the Dallas Wings.

The 29-year-old will wear the No. 22 jersey in the team, the Wings said in a statement on Monday.

Wings CEO Greg Bibb said George had the ability to play multiple positions, bringing a versatile game to the team's roster.

"She is an outstanding rebounder and a player who has the ability to extend her shooting range well outside the paint," Bibb said.

George recently won a Commonwealth Games gold medal with the Opals and competed in the Connecticut Sun's training camp after playing for Phoenix Mercury in 2015 and 2017.

The centre has played 66 WNBA games, averaging 4.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.

The Wings sit fourth on the ladder in the WNBA Western Conference and are set to play Indiana Fever in Indianapolis on Friday.
