Dane Nielsen leaves Bradford for Australia

Former representative centre Dane Nielsen has returned to Australia following an unsuccessful stint with English club Bradford.

Controversial former Melbourne and St George Illawarra centre Dane Nielsen is clubless again after parting ways with Bradford, just five games into an unsuccessful English stint.

Nielsen has returned back to Australia in a bid to revive his NRL career.

The 30-year-old was sacked by the Dragons last May, six weeks after being stood down for allegedly biting a woman in a Cronulla nightclub.

Nielsen, who played three games for Queensland in 2011-12, was a high-profile signing for the Bulls last July but made just five appearances.

"Dane will not be playing for us in 2016," said Bradford managing director Steve Ferres.

"We have taken the decision not to extend his contract for a second season.

"We thank him for his contribution last year and wish him well for the future. This allows us to explore further options for 2016."
