St George Illawarra have terminated the contract of troubled centre Dane Nielsen.
The former Melbourne Storm premiership winner had been stood down from all club activities since March 22 after being involved in a public disturbance.
It is alleged Nielsen had bitten a female patron at a bar in Cronulla, however there were no complaints made to the Miranda police.
The Dragons sacked the centre on Tuesday for "breaches of his obligations under his NRL contract."
"This is an unfortunate circumstance for both Dane and the club and the decision has followed a thorough investigation undertaken by the club and the NRL integrity unit," said Dragons chief executive Peter Doust.
"Unfortunately Dane's particular actions were in breach of his obligations and upon review of all information by the board of the Dragons, the decision was made that termination of his contract was the appropriate outcome.
"Whilst Dane will no longer officially be a part of the Dragons, the club has offered to assist him with any necessary support from an education and welfare perspective."
Nielsen played just two games for the Dragons after moving from the Warriors this season.
He made 30 starts for the Warriors over two years, and appeared in 79 matches for the Storm between 2008-12. He made his debut for Cronulla in 2007, playing just one game.
