Dangerfield backs Goodes in AFL

Patrick Dangerfield has called on travelling Crows fans to be respectful towards Adam Goodes in this weekend's clash at the SCG.

Adelaide star Patrick Dangerfield has implored Crows supporters not to boo dual Brownlow medallist Adam Goodes during their AFL clash against Sydney at the SCG on Saturday.

"I'd hope our fans wouldn't but you just don't know, and you can't control that many people at a footy game," Dangerfield told 5AA radio.

"I think it is because he's so outspoken. It's such a sensitive issue.

"He stands up and says what he thinks, which I think is terrific. I think it's something he should be commended for, because not many people do it".

Swans legend Michael O'Loughlin said he was disgusted by the constant booing.

"I think where it's heading, the continued booing of an unbelievable player and what he's done for the game, is just really disheartening," he told 5AA radio.

"Some people like their Aboriginal people to be very, very thankful for what's happened as a way of dealing with issues but Adam has been there and done that.

"He's one of those really powerful leaders in our community who tells it like it is, and people don't like that."
