If Patrick Dangerfield has played his last game for Adelaide it was one heck of a swan song.

If, as is widely expected, he takes up an offer from Geelong to be closer to his childhood home in Moggs Creek, then he saluted his adoring legion of fans in style.

No one could ever accuse Dangerfield of not giving his all and that's still the case whether he sticks with the Crows or not.

In purely statistical terms he finished with 29 possessions - 14 of them contested - 10 clearances, five marks and a goal.

When the heat was right on in the first quarter, the 25-year-old played almost a lone hand for the under-siege visitors with 11 possessions and five clearances - half his team's tally.
And he kicked a goal that needs to be seen, to be believed.
Hemmed in on the boundary deep in a pocket, he sent a running check-side kick that had Crows fans on their feet for one of the few occasions in the lopsided affair.
While his influence waned after halftime, he was his side's best player in a performance that, in show business terms left them wanting more.
