Australian Dani Stevens has finished a creditable second behind Croatian powerhouse Sandra Perkovic in the women's discus at the Diamond League meet in Shanghai.
Stevens, the 2009 world champion, produced her best throw of 66.47m in the second round of a competition where the male and female throwers competed alongside each other for the first time.
"It's another second place, my fourth here in Shanghai, and it's good to go near the win," Stevens said.
"We were out there for a long time making for a difficult competition, but I really liked throwing alongside the men.
"I love throwing here. It's a good circle and always a good competition. It's nice to be consistent at 66 metres now."
Dual Olympic champ Perkovic won the women's discus with a best effort of 66.94m.
Rio Olympians Linden Hall and Jenny Blundell finished 11th and 12th respectively in the women's 1500m.
Although frustrated by the messiness of the race and again missing out on the qualifying standard for August's world championships, Hall was pleased to be racing again.
Her next big outing will be at the Prefontaine Classic in Oregon later this month.
