The Delhi Daredevils have underlined their IPL title credentials with a crushing eight-wicket win over the table-topping Gujarat Lions in Rajkot.
The Lions were facing an uphill battle after just three overs when Australia's Aaron Finch (5) joined fellow big hitters Dwayne Smith (15) and Brendon McCullum (1) back in the pavillion after becoming Shahbaz Nadeem's second wicket.
Suresh Raina (24) and Dinesh Kartik (53) stabilised the innings with Ravidra Jadeja's unbeaten 36 guiding his side to a below-par 7-149 after Australian allrounder James Faulkner (7) and Ishan Kisahn (2) fell cheaply in an attempt to score quick runs.
The Daredevils' response was emphatic with South Africa batsman Quinton de Kock scoring 46 from 45 balls and Rishabh Pant clubbing 69 off 40 deliveries in an opening partnership of 115.
Sanju Samson (19no) and JP Duminy (13no) guided the Daredevils to a comprehensive victory with 16 balls to spare.
