True Survivor, performed by David Hasselhoff, is four minutes and three seconds of action and 80s drama.
The music video shows excepts of kickstarter flim, Kung Fury, an 80s style over-the-top action comedy featuring arcade game robots, dinosaurs, nazis, vikings, explosions, a clone army and a Kung-Fu master cop who travels back in time to kill Adolf Hitler, aka Kung Fuhrer.
The project is the brainchild of David Sandberg. He started the project more than a year ago because of his love for 80s action movies. He says he's currently written and directed enough material for a 30 minute film.
On the kickstarter website, Mr Sandberg says he started out with $5000 and worked on the flick in his spare time. He shot most of the flim using a greenscreen and used his friends as actors. Mr Sandberg, from Sweden, has a background in visual effects. He began crowd funding the film to help finish the project.
Mr Sandberg has set the goal of $200,000 for the 30 minute film which he says will be released for viewers online - for free. But he says with about one million dollars Acadamy Award nominated producer, Mathias Fjellstrom, will talk to a potential distributor and re-write the script for a feature length film.
It's unclear how Mr Sandberg enticed David Hasselhoff to perform True Survivor for the film. But, once you see the music video, it's hard to image how anyone could refuse.
