A Sydney dance teacher who sexually abused his students bullied one when she stopped sexting him, saying to her she would never "make it as a dancer", court documents reveal.

Grant Davies, 41, who was set to face trial this month, pleaded guilty to 28 charges including sexual intercourse with a child and using children to make pornography at Sydney's District Court on Monday.

It comes after he was charged last May following more than a decade of offending against children aged between nine and 15.

Facts tendered to court reveal Davies and one young girl regularly swapped naked photos of themselves in texts and had late night "phone sex".

The girl and her mother took numerous photos for Davies, which depicted her and her sister performing sexually explicit acts.

Davies would "act nasty" and pick on the student if she didn't respond to his messages, court documents state.

He would single her out in class and tell her she was not "shining her light" and would never "make it as a dancer."

Speaking outside court, one of the victims, who cannot be named, said he no longer dances and felt betrayed by Davies.

"It's an abuse of trust, in a position of authority," he told reporters.

"The criminal justice system may be slow - I think today it reached a just outcome for the victims such as myself, and the wider community."

Davies, who ran a studio in Sydney's inner west and trained performers for hit productions including Billy Elliot, was initially facing more than 60 charges.

His pleas come almost a year to the day since a mother of two of Davies' dance students was jailed for at least one-and-a-half years for sending explicit pictures and videos of her daughters to him.

The woman, who cannot be named, said she fell under the spell of Davies and became engulfed by stage ambitions for her daughters who had been accepted into Grant's exclusive dance school.

Texts allegedly sent between Davies and the mother in 2011 about her daughters included requests by him for some "special G-shots".

When half an hour later the mother sent sexually explicit photos of her daughter, Sydney's District Court heard last year that Davies responded: "Now that has made me excited. I'm so lucky".

The mother had told the court she was scared of Davies, whom she described as domineering and aggressive, and feared that he would punish her children by kicking them out of starring roles in his company's dance productions or remove them altogether.

Davies will return to court for sentencing on February 12, 2016.
