Dawes among four Demons delisted in AFL

Melbourne have delisted four more players, including former Collingwood key forward and AFL premiership player Chris Dawes.

Melbourne have delisted key forward Chris Dawes, taking the number of Demons culled during the AFL post-season to seven.

Dawes, who began his career at Collingwood, was one of four players cut by Melbourne on Friday alongside midfielders Ben Newton and Viv Michie and forward-ruckman Max King.

The Demons had earlier delisted former co-captain Jack Grimes, utility Matt Jones and defender Dean Terlich.

Dawes played 50 games in four seasons at Melbourne, booting 47 goals, but managed just six appearances this year.

The 28-year-old spent five years at Collingwood and was a member of their premiership side in 2010.

Newton and Michie played a combined 34 matches for Melbourne, while King could not crack into the senior side after spending three seasons on the rookie list.
