Dawes to miss start of 2015 AFL season

Melbourne's Chris Dawes has accepted a one-game ban from the AFL's match-review panel.

Melbourne forward Chris Dawes has accepted a one-game ban for the start of the 2015 AFL season on a striking charge.

Dawes was booked for striking North Melbourne's Andrew Swallow during the third quarter of last weekend's final-round clash at Etihad Stadium.

Crows' backman Ben Rutten, who played his farewell game last Sunday at Adelaide Oval, has accepted a reprimand for striking St Kilda's Adam Schneider.
