Their poor form has led to speculation several off-contract Gold Coast players are uncertain about committing their future to the AFL club.
But as far as big man Sam Day is concerned, the future is looking bright at the Suns.
After winning their opening three fixtures of the season, the Suns have since lost nine straight to languish 16th on the ladder.
With key midfielders Jaeger O'Meara and Dion Prestia among those yet to sign new deals, there's plenty of talk the Suns' inability to reach the finals is weighing heavily on players' minds as they contemplate new deals.
Day says that with several injured players returning in recent weeks, a stronger second half of the year looms.
"Football clubs are always a happier place when you're winning," he said.
"We've had a tough first half of the year.
"We've started to get some of those boys back that have missed long stints of time ... we're poised in a good position to take it to some of the teams we're gong to play in the second half of the year.
"Definitely exciting to be part of that going forward."
As far as Day's own contract goes, he says the situation will hopefully be resolved soon but he's doing his utmost to not let it affect his form.
"At the moment I'm really enjoying playing," he said.
"It's not affecting my football, that mindset or that decision.
"I've loved living here for six years and I've got a place up here and my girlfriend is happy to move up."
