Day withdraws from Texas PGA event

World No.8 Jason Day has withdrawn from the Byron Nelson Championship with dizzy spells.

World No.8 Jason Day has withdrawn from this week's US PGA Byron Nelson Championship after suffering from dizzy spells during the Wednesday Pro-Am.

Day, a winner of the event in 2010 and hot favourite to win the Texas PGA event again, has taken the precautionary measure of heading home to Columbus, Ohio to consult with his doctors.

The Queenslander has been experiencing the problem in recent weeks and wants to find a cause before next month's US Open.

Day withdrew from last year's World Golf Championships Invitational last year with vertigo but that was linked to medicine side effects from a thumb injury.

The three-time US tour winner is hopeful off playing in next week's Memorial Tournament in his home town before lining up at the US Open.
