St George Illawarra forward Jack de Belin has lost his bid to remain NSW's 19th man after copping a one-match NRL ban for a crusher tackle.
De Belin was on Tuesday night rubbed out for a week after being found guilty of a grade one dangerous contact charge at the NRL judiciary.
He was set to be the Blues' 19th man in Wednesday's State of Origin II but will no longer be available to run out should Laurie Daley's side suffer an injury in the warm-up.
A NSWRL official said it was not yet known whether another emergency player would be drafted in but it's unlikely to have any impact on the side.
Back-rower Tyson Frizell is the only Blues player under any sort of a cloud because of a rib cartilage injury.
However, he said this week he would be right to play out the match with the aid of a painkilling injection.
De Belin pleaded not guilty to the charge relating to a tackle on Parramatta forward Kenny Edwards in Sunday's loss to the Eels and will be unavailable for the Dragons' clash with Newcastle on Sunday.
