De Belin launches fresh legal challenge

St George Illawarra forward Jack de Belin has lodged a Federal Court appeal as his challenge to the NRL's "no-fault" stand down rules continues.

St George Illawarra forward Jack de Belin has launched a fresh legal challenge to the NRL's "no-fault" stand down rules.

The suspended back-rower's lawyers lodged appeal documents at the Federal Court on Friday on last month's ruling dismissing his case against the sport's governing body.

De Belin is attempting to have his playing status reinstated after being stood down while he battles an aggravated sexual assault charge in Wollongong Local Court, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
