The death of a rare Northern white rhino at an American zoo has put the plight of the endangered species back in the spotlight.
Keepers at the San Diego zoo say the species is one member closer to extinction after one of only six surviving animals died.
The only members of the species left now are an elderly female in San Diego, three in Kenya and one at a zoo in the Czech Republic.
Darren Grover from the World Wildlife Foundation spoke to Santilla Chingaipe about the factors that have led to the species' decline.
