Dellacqua into last 8 at Tokyo WTA event

Qualifier Jarmila Gajdosova is out but fellow Australian Casey Dellacqua is into the quarter-finals of the WTA Tour's Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.

Casey Dellacqua is into the quarter-finals of the WTA Tour's Pan Pacific Open but fellow Australian Jarmila Gajdosova fell to second-seeded Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark 4-6 7-5 6-3.

The US Open finalist broke Gajdosova three times in the third set at Tokyo's Ariake Coliseum and won with a crosscourt backhand.

Dellacqua beat Marina Erakovic of New Zealand 6-2 6-4.

Also into the quarter-finals are Spaniard Suarez Navarro, who defeated Daria Gavrilova of Russia 7-6 (7-5) 6-3, and Garbine Muguruza of Spain who defeated fourth-seeded Jelena Jankovic of Serbia 7-6 (7-4) 6-4.
