Matthew Dellavedova notched a team-high eight assists as Milwaukee downed New Orleans on an otherwise quiet night for Australians in the NBA.

The Boomers guard also registered 11 points and five rebounds in the Bucks' four-point win over the Pelicans in Louisana on Tuesday night.

The 117-113 result was Milwaukee's second win from four games for the new NBA season.

Dellavedova was one of six players to reach double figures for the Bucks, which had 10 individual scorers.

"That's what it's going to take every night. Everybody contributed," he told Fox Sports.

"We've got to keep working defensively, but I think we made some progress tonight."

Dellavedova's countryman and rookie teammate Thon Maker was left on the bench.

Australian guards Patty Mills of San Antonio and Utah's Dante Exum faced off in Texas, with the Jazz getting the better of their rivals with a 106-91 win, thanks to some accurate shooting.

Utah made a season-high 15 three-pointers - seven of them in the first quarter - to hand the Spurs their first loss for the season.

Exum had four points and four blocks in 14 minutes off the bench as he continues to be nursed since a serious knee injury, while Australian Jazz teammate Joe Ingles sunk eight points.

Mills contributed eight points but was down on his recent output, missing all four three-pointers attempts and shooting 50 per cent from the field.

Aron Baynes' Detroit beat New York Knicks for their third-straight win, with the Boomers' centre notching two points, four rebounds and a block.
