Midfielder Dom Tyson has been dropped for the second time this season by Melbourne as they try to climb out of an AFL rut.

The Demons are in danger of falling out of the top eight on the back of a three-game losing streak and must beat Fremantle on Saturday night in Darwin.

Forward Jeff Garlett is back after playing in the opening five rounds, while the Demons also left out Mitch Hannan, Harry Petty and Sam Weideman for Sam Frost, Billy Stretch and Charlie Spargo.

Nat Fyfe (hamstring) and Hayden Ballantyne (ankle) join Aaron Sandilands on the sidelines at Fremantle.

Sandilands was a late withdrawal last week because of a calf injury.

Bradley Hill is their key inclusion, alongside Ethan Hughes and Sean Darcy, while Ryan Nyuis was dropped.

Adelaide will finally regain forward Tom Lynch for their Friday night blockbuster against Richmond at the MCG.

Lynch was supposed to return from a side strain last week, but was ruled out because of concussion and he will come in for David Mackay (ribs).

Matt Crouch has a hand fracture, but coach Don Pyke said earlier on Thursday that the gun midfielder would play.

The Tigers recalled Callum Moore and Corey Ellis for Nick Vlastuin (suspension) and Reeca Conca (ankle).

Port Adelaide recalled star recruit Jack Watts for Saturday's home game against St Kilda, a fortnight after he was dropped.

Tom Jonas, Darcy Byrne-Jones and Aidyn Johnson are also back for the Power, while Jasper Pittard (hamstring), Sam Gray (ankle), Jack Hombsch and Todd Marshall go out.

The Saints were going to recall Josh Bruce, but he is out for the rest of the season with a broken leg.

Nathan Brown (hamstring), Josh Battle (eye socket) and Jake Carlisle (punctured lung) are also casualties and Bailey Rice was dropped.

Jimmy Webster, Logan Austin, Sam Gilbert and Nathan Wright will take their spots.

Star ruckman Matthew Kreuzer will bolster Carlton for Saturday's Gabba match against Brisbane, who are unchanged.

Dale Thomas, Caleb Marchbank and Lochie O'Brien will also return, while Levi Casboult leads their omissions.

Rising Star nominee Paddy Dow, Jarrod Garlett (ankle) and Aaron Mullett are also out of the side.

Hawthorn utility Jack Gunston will return from a calf injury for Saturday night's match against the Western Bulldogs.

Will Langford (finger) and Tim O'Brien were left out and Teia Miles is the other recall.

The Bulldogs brought in premiership players Shane Biggs and Caleb Daniel for Bailey Williams (foot) and Lin Jong (collarbone)
